The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise, and warn! 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 And keep your clothes clean. 4 and flee from the statues! 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 I shall force him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 Indeed, he thought and deliberated. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he thought; 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 And said, “This is nothing but magic learnt from earlier men.” 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 Him shall I fling unto the burning. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 it scorches the skin; 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
