Yet Aaron had aforetime said to them, 'My people, you have been tempted by this thing, no more; surety your Lord is the All-merciful; therefore follow me, and obey my commandment!' 90 They replied, "We shall not cease to worship it until Moses returns to us." 91 (After rebuking his people) Moses turned to Aaron and said: "Aaron! What prevented you, when you saw them going astray, 92 so that thou didst not follow after me? Didst thou then disobey my commandment?' 93 "O son of my mother," (Aaron cried), do not pull me by my beard or my hair! I was really afraid you may say that I had created a rift among the children of Israel, and did not pay heed to your command." 94 Moses asked, "Samiri, what were your motives?" 95 He answered: "I saw what the people did not see. So I took a handful of dust from the trail of the Messenger, and I flung it (into the fire). Thus did my mind prompt me." 96 Musa (Moses) said: "Then go away! And verily, your (punishment) in this life will be that you will say: "Touch me not (i.e. you will live alone exiled away from mankind); and verily (for a future torment), you have a promise that will not fail. And look at your ilah (god), to which you have been devoted. We will certainly burn it, and scatter its particles in the sea." 97 Your Lord is the One who is the only God and He has the knowledge of all things. 98 Thus We relate to you (O Muhammad SAW) some information of what happened before. And indeed We have given you from Us a Reminder (this Quran). 99 Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden, 100 Abiding in this (state), and evil will it be for them to bear on the day of resurrection; 101 The day when the Trumpet is blown. On that day we assemble the guilty white-eyed (with terror), 102 Whispering to one another: "You have tarried but ten days." 103 [But] We know best what they will be saying when the most perceptive of them shall say: "You have spent [there] but one day!" 104
