In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER Mount Sinai! 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 by the Visited House, 4 And the roof exalted, 5 and the sea that is full 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 there is none who could avert it. 8 On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. 9 and the mountains shall violently fly about. 10 Will be the day of woe for those 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say], 13 "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 rejoicing in whatever their Lord has given them. Their Lord has saved them from the torment of the Fire, 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 They will recline on couches arranged in rows and We shall couple them with maidens with large, lovely eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. 21 And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. 22 They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. 23 ۞ And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28
