The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
