The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
