The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
