Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the sun and its midmorning, 1 and the moon as it reflects the sun! 2 Consider the day as it reveals the world, 3 And the night when it enshroudeth him, 4 By the heaven and Him Who builded it, 5 By the earth and Him Who spread it forth, 6 By the soul and Him Who propertioned it, 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 He will indeed be successful who purifies it, 9 And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. 10 The people of Thamud rejected (the truth) as a result of their rebelliousness 11 When the basest of them broke forth 12 And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink! 13 But they called him a liar and hamstrung her. So God obliterated them for their crime, and (destroyed) all of them alike. 14 He did not fear the consequences. 15

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
