People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty. 99
