Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were closed up, but We have opened them; and We have made of water everything living, will they not then believe? 30 And [are they not aware that] We have set up firm mountains on earth, lest it sway with them, and [that] We have appointed thereon broad paths, so that they might find their way, 31 And We have made the heaven a guarded canopy and (yet) they turn aside from its signs. 32 And it is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each one floats in an orbit. 33 We have not assigned to any mortal before thee to live forever; therefore, if thou diest, will they live forever? 34 Every soul must taste of death and We try you by evil and good by way of probation; and to Us you shall be brought back. 35 When the Unbelievers see thee, they treat thee not except with ridicule. "Is this," (they say), "the one who talks of your gods?" and they blaspheme at the mention of (Allah) Most Gracious! 36 Man is a creature of haste; [but in time] I shall make obvious to you [the truth of] My messages: do not, then, ask Me to hasten [it]! 37 But they [who reject My messages are wont to] ask, "When is that promise [of God's judgment] to be fulfilled? [Answer this, O you who believe in it,] if you are men of truth!" 38 If the unbelievers but knew when that they shall not ward off the Fire from their faces nor from their backs, neither shall they be helped! 39 Aye! it would come upon them on a sudden and shall dumbfound them; they shall not be able to avert it, nor shall they be respited. 40 Messengers before thee, indeed, were mocked, but that whereat they mocked surrounded those who scoffed at them. 41
