Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
