The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created the human 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
