Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 He plunged the villages 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
