The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 it is no merriment. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
