The people of Noah gave the lie to the Messengers. 105 When their brother Nuh said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 106 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 107 Have fear of God and obey me. 108 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 109 So fear God and follow me." 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we place our faith in thee, even though [only] the most abject [of people] follow thee?" 111 He said, "What knowledge do I have of their doings? 112 Lo! their reckoning is my Lord's concern, if ye but knew; 113 "And I am not going to drive away the believers. 114 I am only a plain warner. 115 They said, "Noah, if you do not desist, you will be stoned." 116 He said: 'My Lord, my nation have belied me. 117 So adjudge between me and them conclusively, and save me and the believers who are with me." 118 And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. 119 Then We drowned the rest thereafter. 120 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 121 surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 122
