Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

By the white forenoon 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 your Lord has not forsaken you (Prophet Muhammad), nor does He hate you. 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 Did He not find you wandering about and give you guidance? 7 Did He not find you poor and suffice you? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard); 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
