And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
