And when We assigned to Ibrahim the place of the House, saying: Do not associate with Me aught, and purify My House for those who make the circuit and stand to pray and bow and prostrate themselves. 26 And proclaim unto mankind the pilgrimage. They will come unto thee on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every deep ravine, 27 That they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor. 28 then let the pilgrims purify themselves and fulfil their vows and perform the circumambulation of the Ancient House. 29 All this [is ordained by God]; and if one houours God's sacred commandments, it will redound to his own good in his Sustainer's sight. And all [kinds of] cattle have been made lawful to you [for sacrifice and food,] save what is mentioned to you [as forbidden]. Shun, then, [all that God has forbidden and most of all,] the loathsome evil of idolatrous beliefs and practices; and shun every word that is untrue, 30 Devoting yourself to Allah, not ascribing any partner to Him; and whoever ascribes partners to Allah is as if he has fallen from the sky and the birds snatch him or the wind blows him away to a far-off place. 31 To respect the symbols of God is the sign of a pious heart. 32 You may benefit from the animals for an appointed time. Then they must be sacrificed at the Ancient House. 33
