The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and so am I: 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
