We built the heavens by Our authority; and We are the Lord of power and expanse. 47 And the earth! We have stretched it forth beneath; an excellent Spreader are We! 48 And We created all things in pairs, so that you may ponder. 49 Flee, therefore, to Allah. Surely I am a clear warner to you from Him; 50 “And do not appoint other deities along with Allah; indeed I am from Him, a clear Herald of Warning towards you.” 51 Likewise, there came no messenger to those before them, but they said, "He is a sorcerer or a madman." 52 Did they suggest it to them? Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people. 53 Then turn your back upon them for you are not to blame; 54 And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers. 55 I created the jinn and mankind only so that they might worship Me: 56 I do not ask any sustenance from them, nor wish that they give Me food. 57 for, verily, God Himself is the Provider of all sustenance, the Lord of all might, the Eternal! 58 For the Wrong-doers, their portion is like unto the portion of their fellows (of earlier generations): then let them not ask Me to hasten (that portion)! 59 So ruin is for disbelievers, from their day – which they are promised. 60
