And remember thou Our bondman Ayyub, what time he cried unto his Lord: verily the Satan hath touched me with affliction and suffering. 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 We gave him back his family and doubled their number as a blessing from Us and as a reminder to the people of understanding. 43 "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! 44 Remember Our votaries Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of power and insight. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 And remember Ismail and Yasa’a (Elisha) and Zul-Kifl; and they are all excellent. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 gardens of perpetual bliss, with gates wide-open to them, 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste females (virgins) restraining their glances only for their husbands, (and) of equal ages. 52 This is what you were promised on the Day of Reckoning: 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 This (is for the righteous). And lo! for the transgressors there with be an evil journey's end, 55 They shall roast in (the Fire) of Gehenna, an evil cradling. 56 This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink). 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 The followers will say, “In fact, for you! May you not get open space! It is you who brought this calamity upon us!” So what a wretched destination. 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 But why is it that we cannot see men whom we had considered as wicked 62 Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?" 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
