The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant that he may be to the worlds a warner - 1 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and He has not taken to Him a son, and He has no associate in the Kingdom; and He created every thing, then He ordained it very exactly. 2 Yet they have taken, besides Him, deities who create nothing and are themselves created, and who have no power to harm, or benefit themselves and who control neither death, nor life, nor resurrection. 3 The unbelievers say, 'This is naught but a calumny he has forged, and other folk have helped him to it.' So they have committed wrong and falsehood. 4 They say: 'He has written tales of the ancients, they are recited to him at dawn and at the evening' 5 Say: "The (Qur'an) was sent down by Him who knows the mystery (that is) in the heavens and the earth: verily He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." 6 And they say: What is the matter with this Apostle that he eats food and goes about in the markets; why has not an angel been sent down to him, so that he should have been a warner with him? 7 Or, why has no treasure been thrown to him, or a garden for him to eat from' And the harmdoers say: 'The man you follow is surely bewitched' 8 See how they strike examples for you, surely they have gone astray and are unable to find a way. 9
