1/2 Hizb 46
< random >
Remember Our votary Job because he called to his Lord: "Satan has afflicted me with disease and distress." 41 (Allah said to him): "Strike the ground with your foot: This is a spring of water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink." 42 We restored his family to him with others similar to them, as a blessing from Us and a reminder for men of wisdom. -- 43 (and We said to him): “Take in your hand a bundle of rushes and strike with it, and do not break your oath.” Indeed We found him steadfast. How excellent a servant (of Ours) he was. Indeed he constantly turned (to his Lord). 44 And remember Our servants -- Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- they were endowed with great strength and vision. 45 We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode. 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 And call to mind Ishmael and Elisha, and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto Us]: for, each of them was of the truly good! 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for plenteous fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them are those of modest gaze, companions. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 Yea, such! but - for the wrong-doers will be an evil place of (Final) Return!- 55 Hell!- they will burn therein, - an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)!- 56 Here is a boiling and an ice-cold draught, so let them taste it, 57 and other torments of the like kind coupled together. 58 “Here is another group that was with you, falling along with you”; they will answer, “Do not give them plenty of open space; they surely have to enter the fire let them also be confined!” 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" 61 And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst? 62 What, did we take them for a laughing-stock? Or have our eyes swerved away from them?' 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64
