And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 and when I fall ill, is the One who restores me to health, 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 no caring friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
