Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They slept very little during the night 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
