As for those who reject Our signs as false, We shall lead them, step by step, to their ruin without their even perceiving it. 182 for, behold, though I may give them rein for a while. My subtle scheme is exceedingly firm! 183 Have they not reflected that their companion is not mad? He is only a plain warner. 184 Look they not at the governance of the heaven and the earth and whatsoever Allah hath created of aught, and at the fact that their term may have drawn nigh? In what discourse then will they, thereafter, believe! 185 Whomsoever God leads astray, no guide he has; He leaves them in their insolence blindly wandering. 186 They ask you about the hour, when will be its taking place? Say: The knowledge of it is only with my Lord; none but He shall manifest it at its time; it will be momentous in the heavens and the earth; it will not come on you but of a sudden. They ask you as if you were solicitous about it. Say: Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know. 187 Say: 'I do not have the power to acquire benefits or to avert harm from myself, except by the Will of Allah. Had I possessed knowledge of the unseen, I would have availed myself of much that is good, and no harm would have touched me. But I am only a warner and a bearer of glad tidings for a nation who believe. 188
