Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None but God can avert it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
