Whatever hardship befalls you is the result of your own deeds. God pardons many of your sins. 30 And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper. 31 And of His signs are the ships that run on the sea like landmarks; 32 If He wills, He can calm the winds so the ships remain still on the sea surface; indeed in this are signs for every greatly enduring, grateful person. 33 or He could have destroyed them as punishment for the human being's deeds. However, God pardons many sins. 34 And those who dispute (polytheists, etc. with Our Messenger Muhammad SAW) as regards Our Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc. of Islamic Monotheism) may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah's punishment). 35 So whatsoever things are vouchsafed unto you are but a passing enjoyment for the life of the world, and that which is with Allah, better and more lasting, is for those who believe and in their Lord put their trust. 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish worship, and whose affairs are a matter of counsel, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them, 38 who, when they are attacked, defend themselves. 39 Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. 40 Those who successfully defend themselves after being wronged will not be questioned. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 To exercise patience and forgive (the wrong done to one) is the proof of genuine determination. 43
