Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Look not with your eyes ambitiously at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them (the disbelievers), nor grieve over them. And lower your wings for the believers (be courteous to the fellow-believers). 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 For all that they used to do. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
