Believers, do not devour usury multiplied many times over. Fear God, so that you may prosper, 130 Fear the Fire, which is repaired for those who reject Faith: 131 And obey Allah and the Apostle, that you may be shown mercy. 132 ۞ And vie with one another for your Lord's forgiveness and for a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, which has been prepared for the God-fearing, 133 for those who spend, both in prosperity and adversity, who restrain their anger and are forgiving towards their fellow men -- God loves those who do good works. 134 And those who, having done something to be ashamed of, or wronged their own souls, earnestly bring Allah to mind, and ask for forgiveness for their sins,- and who can forgive sins except Allah?- and are never obstinate in persisting knowingly in (the wrong) they have done. 135 For such the reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens beneath which rivers flow – abiding in it forever; what an excellent reward for the performers (of good deeds)! 136 [MANY] WAYS of life have passed away before your time. Go, then, about the earth and behold what happened in the end to those who gave the lie to the truth: 137 This is a clear declaration for mankind, and a guidance and a warning for those who preserve themselves from evil. 138 And do not become faint of heart, nor grieve, you will have the upper hand, if you are believers, 139 If there hath befallen you a sore, a sore like thereunto hath already befallen that people. These are the haps that We change about among mankind, that Allah may know those who believe and may take martyrs from among you; and Allah loveth not the wrong doers. 140 Allah's object also is to purge those that are true in Faith and to deprive of blessing Those that resist Faith. 141 Or did you suppose you should enter Paradise without God know who of you have struggled and who are patient? 142 For, indeed, you did long for death [in God's cause] before you came face to face with it; and now you have seen it with your own eyes! 143
