In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Cloaked one, 1 Rise up and warn! 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 Purify your inner self, 4 And stay away from idols. 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. its second blowing); 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 and for the disbelievers, in particular, it will not be at all easy. 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 And give him vast riches, 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 So accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 19 What an evil plan he has made! 20 Then he looked, 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 And what will make you realize what hell is? 27 It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)! 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
