The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He created the human 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
