The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
