The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
