The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
