Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
