The people of Noah denied the messengers 105 span class="col">Their brother Noah asked them, "Why do you not fear God? 106 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 107 fear God, and obey me. 108 I ask no recompense of you for it. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 109 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me. 110 ۞ They said: Shall we believe in you while the meanest follow you? 111 He said, "What knowledge do I have of their doings? 112 "Their account is only with my Lord, if you could (but) know. 113 Hence, I shall not drive away [any of] those [who profess to be] believers; 114 I am only a plain warner." 115 They said, "Noah, if you do not desist, you will, certainly, be stoned to death." 116 [Whereupon] he prayed: "O my Sustainer! Behold, my people have given me the lie: 117 Therefore judge Thou between me and them with a (just) judgment, and deliver me and those who are with me of the believers. 118 So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. 119 And drowned the rest of them. 120 Verily there is a sign in this, yet many of them do not believe. 121 But surely your Lord is mighty and merciful. 122
