The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
