And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
