Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ ALL THAT IS in the heavens and the earth sings the praises of God the King, the Holy, Omnipotent, the Wise. 1 He it is Who hath sent among the unlettered ones a messenger of their own, to recite unto them His revelations and to make them grow, and to teach them the Scripture and wisdom, though heretofore they were indeed in error manifest, 2 and others of them who have not yet joined them. And He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. 3 This is Allah’s munificence, which He may give to whomever He wills; and Allah is Extremely Munificent. 4 The example of those who were entrusted with the Taurat, and did not carry out its commands, is like the donkey carrying books; what a wretched example is of the people who denied the signs of Allah; and Allah does not guide the unjust. 5 Say: "O you who follow the Jewish faith! If you claim that you [alone] are close to God, to the exclusion of all other people, then you should be longing for death - if what you say is true!" 6 But they will never long for it because of all that their own hands have sent before, and Allah is Aware of evil-doers. 7 Say, "Indeed, the death from which you flee - indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you about what you used to do." 8
