The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
