Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 Truly, it is inscribed in the Original Book, in Our keeping; it is sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 How many a Prophet We sent among the ancients, 6 But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him. 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 And Who sendeth down from the heaven water in measure; then We quicken a dead land therewith: even so ye shall be brought forth. 11 That has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful. 15
