Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
