A numerous company from among the first, 39 And a company of the later peoples. 40 Those on the Left: how unfortunate are those on the Left! 41 In scorching wind and scalding water 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor refreshing. 44 They were endowed with good things 45 and persisted in heinous sins. 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 "(We) and our fathers of old?" 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, 51 you will indeed have to taste of the tree of deadly fruit, 52 and you shall fill therewith your bellies 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 drink it as the most insatiably thirsty camels drink!" 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 It is We Who created you, so why do you not accept the truth? 57 Have you thought about what (sperm) you ejaculate? 58 Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator? 59 We! it is We Who have decreed death unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. 60 that We may exchange the likes of you, and make you to grow again in a fashion you know not. 61 You have certainly known the first creation. Why, then, do you not take heed? 62 Have you considered what you sow? 63 Is it you who cause them to grow or do We? 64 If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder, 65 (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing): 66 nay, we have been robbed!' 67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? 69 [It comes down sweet - but] were it Our will, We could make it burningly salty and bitter: why, then, do you not give thanks [unto Us]? 70 And have you seen the fire that you ignite? 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 We have made it a reminder, and a blessing to the traveler. 73 Then celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme! 74
