This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
