Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 will certainly be victorious 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
