۞ Say to them, (O Prophet): “I give you but one counsel: stand up (for heaven's sake), singly and in pairs, and then think: what is it in your companion (to wit, Muhammad) that could be deemed as madness?” He is nothing but a warner, warning you before the coming of a grevious chastisement. 46 Say: 'I ask no wage of you; that shall be yours. My wage is only upon Allah and He is Witness over everything' 47 Say: Surely my Lord utters the truth, the great Knower of the unseen. 48 Say: "The truth has come, and falsehood had neither precedence nor will reappear." 49 Proclaim, “If I stray, I stray only for my own harm; and if I attain guidance, it is because of what my Lord has sent down to me; indeed He is All Hearing, Close.” 50 And could you see when they shall become terrified, but (then) there shall be no escape and they shall be seized upon from a near place 51 and say: 'We believe in it' But how can they reach from a place that is distant, 52 They had rejected it before, while they indulged in conjectures from far away. 53 And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire [i.e. At-Taubah (turning to Allah in repentance) and the accepting of Faith etc.], as was done in the past with the people of their kind. Verily, they have been in grave doubt. 54
