And whosoever blindeth himself to the admonition of the Compassionate, We assign unto him a satan, and he becometh his companion. 36 And indeed those devils prevent them from the Straight Path, and they think they are on guidance! 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 And it profiteth you not this day, because ye did wrong, that ye will be sharers in the doom. 39 What! can you then make the deaf to hear or guide the blind and him who is in clear error? 40 And even if We take you (O Muhammad SAW) away, We shall indeed take vengeance on them. 41 or make you see the end that We had promised them, for We have full power over them. 42 Therefore, hold fast to that which is revealed to you, indeed, you are on the Straight Path. 43 The (Qur'an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account. 44 And question thou our messengers whom We sent before thee; did We appoint any deities other than (Allah) Most Gracious, to be worshipped? 45
