But no; I swear by what you see, 38 And by whatsoever you see not, 39 Behold, this [Qur'an] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 40 And it is not the word of a poet; little is it that you believe; 41 nor the speech of a soothsayer (little do you remember). 42 (It is) a sending down from the Lord of all the Worlds. 43 And if he [i.e., the Prophets] had forged this Discourse and thereafter ascribed it to Us, 44 We would indeed have seized him by his right hand, 45 and would indeed have cut his life-vein. 46 and not one of you would have been able to withhold Us from doing so. 47 And lo! it is a warrant unto those who ward off (evil). 48 And indeed We know that some among you are deniers. 49 And most surely it is a great grief to the unbelievers. 50 for, verily, it is truth absolute! 51 So glorify the name of thy Lord Most High. 52
