The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
