The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
